The basics

How an eSIM actually works.

An eSIM is a SIM card built into your phone. Instead of a plastic card you scan a QR code, and the profile lives in the device. Same network, zero plastic, faster to activate.

  1. 01

Buy the plan, get a QR by email.

Pick a country, region, or pilgrimage pack. Checkout is card or Apple Pay, delivery is instant. Your QR appears in your account and in an email.

  2. 02

Install the profile before you board.

Open Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM on iOS, or Network → SIMs → Add eSIM on Android. Scan the QR. The profile installs in under 60 seconds.

  3. 03

Switch cellular data when you land.

Your home SIM stays active for iMessage, WhatsApp, and 2FA codes. Your travel eSIM becomes the data line. Turn Data Roaming ON for the travel profile only — leave your home line's roaming OFF.

  4. 04

Top up without a new QR.

Out of data mid-trip? Log in to your account from any Wi-Fi, top up, and the new data applies to the existing profile. No new QR, no reinstall.

What you do not need to do.

  • Remove your home SIM. Your travel eSIM is an additional line — both co-exist.
  • Queue at an airport SIM booth in a country you just landed in.
  • Register your passport or residency with a foreign carrier.
  • Commit to a contract. All plans are single purchase, no renewal.
  • Pay international roaming fees to your home carrier.
