South Korea-specific troubleshooting
Things that can go wrong in South Korea.
- Korea uses CDMA-derived network identifiers — a handful of very old Android devices will refuse to register. All devices from 2019 onward are fine.
- Jeju Island is covered but some volcanic interior hiking trails have SK Telecom-only signal.
- DMZ tour zones near the North Korean border have deliberate signal restrictions — this is security policy, not a plan issue.
